Dipanshi Gagh

Women's Officer

Pronouns: She/her

Hi! I'm Dipanshi from Punjab, India, currently studying BSc Psychology at the University of Birmingham. As an international student, I've learned how important community and representation are. When I'm not studying, you'll probably find me working on my wellness brand, trying new cafés, dancing, anywhere on stage, pretending to win an award, or convincing my friends that Punjabi food is the best food!

What would you like to achieve in your role as an Officer this year?

As Women’s Officer, I want to help create a campus where women feel safe, supported, empowered, and represented. One of my key priorities would be improving access to free or affordable sanitary products across campus, ensuring that no student has to worry about period poverty while studying.

I would also work to make campus spaces safer and more accessible by listening to concerns, advocating for improvements to address issues that affect women’s wellbeing and participation.

I would love to bring in inspiring speakers from a range of backgrounds to discuss topics such as women’s health, career development, leadership, and equality. Alongside this, I plan to organise engaging social events that combine fun with awareness, creating opportunities for students to connect, learn, and build supportive networks.

Most importantly, I want to ensure that women’s voices are heard and that meaningful action is taken to create a more inclusive and empowering university experience for all.
