University of Birmingham Accounting & Finance Society
The Accounting & Finance Society at the University of Birmingham is a community designed to support students academically, professionally and socially throughout university . Whether you are a first-year looking to settle in, or preparing for a career in accounting or finance, the society provides opportunities to learn, connect and develop.
🎓 Mentorship Programme
Our mentorship programme connects students with students in the year(s) above and alumni who can offer guidance based on their own university and career experiences. Mentors can provide support with exam revision, coursework, assignment structure, module questions and adapting to university life, while also sharing their personal advice on internships, placements and career development. Mentors are assigned on a first come first serve basis.
💼 Career Workshops
Gain insight into the world of accounting and finance through workshops and talks with leading firms and industry professionals. These sessions cover what it is really like to work in the industry.
🤝 Networking
Build your network from day one. The society brings together students across your year group alongside other year groups, giving you the opportunity to make friends, share experiences and learn from those further along in their degree. You'll also have opportunities to connect with professionals from firms through our events and workshops.
🎳 Social Events
University is about more than academics and careers. Our social programme gives members the opportunity to meet new people and build friendships outside the lecture hall, with events such as meet-and-greets, sports and other society socials throughout the year.
Whether you're looking for academic support, career inspiration, professional connections or simply a community at university, the Accounting & Finance Society is a place to get involved. Get your membership TODAY!
