GMTG is a fun, welcoming and lively society that celebrates everything Musical Theatre.
Every year, we aim to perform two Main Shows (think Legally Blonde, Sister Act, Footloose or Spring Awakening) and two Showcases, where you can find everything from Carousel to Cabaret, Little Shop of Horrors to The Last Five Years, Hamilton to Hedwig. Additionally, we hold an un-auditioned Showcase in the third semester.
There are loads of opportunities to get involved in the cast, if you sing, dance or act, but also so many opportunities to be part of the production team (stage manager, ASM, band player, designer or tech member) as we are an entirely student-led society.
We also have workshops open to everyone of all abilities. The workshops will take on all aspects of Musical Theatre, and they are usually taught by students; however, we aim to bring in external performers.
This year we have had a GMTG Sports day, BBQ's, show screenings, theatre trips, sports nights, picnics (at Winterbourne), Karaoke, pub trips and bingo nights.
There is something for everyone in GMTG, and we welcome absolutely everyone.
Keep up with audition information, workshop dates and socials on our Instagram and Facebook @gmtgbrum.

Upcoming shows:
Term 1 Main show - Urine Town the Musical
Synopsis:
Debuting on Broadway in 2001, Urinetown is a satirical comedy set in a dystopian future, where a twenty-year drought has made private toilets unthinkable. To control water consumption, all toiletry activities are restricted to the confines of public amenities, established by Caldwell B. Cladwell’s megalomaniacal corporation: The Urine Good Company, who enforce harsh laws that send offenders to the feared and mysterious Urinetown. Guided by the charming narrator, Officer Lockstock, Urinetown is a story of love, revolution and hope inspired by the work of Kurt Weill and Bertolt Brecht that ensures entertainment and laughter for the cast and audience.
This Tony Award winner of best book and best score manages to blend a hilariously witty political satire with an important critique of modern classism and capitalism that not so subtly stresses the significance of sustainability, environmentalism and social justice. Having recently been revived with Jordan Fisher, Keala Settle and Rainn Wilson, the relevance of this show is more evident than ever.
