The Liberal Arts and Natural Sciences Society (LANS Soc) is a society for students on either the BA/BSc Liberal Arts and Sciences or the BA Liberal Arts degree programmes, as well as for anybody interested in the interdisciplinary nature of the degree.
Our aim is to provide our members with the opportunity to be part of a strong and inclusive community in which those with a diverse range of interests can come together to participate in a number of social events and activities. Over the course of the year, we will be organising a variety of events, including nights out in Birmingham, games nights, quizzes, socials and more!
As being part of the society, you will also have the opportunity to join the family system, which gives you the opportunity to integrate with students from other years on your course!
We also have a LANS netball team and a 6-a-side football team which compete in the University's Campus League. Head to the @uoblans.sport instagram to find out more, and do not hesitate to direct message any questions!
Our main event every year is the LANS Soc Ball, which tends to occur around Easter/towards the end of the year, where we pull out our finest attire and celebrate the year so far!
Feel free to get in touch with us if you have any more questions, as we'd love to have you join our community!
