The Policy, Politics and Economics society is not just for those on the BA PPE course. It is for anyone related to any of the three disciplines or even if you just have an interest. It is about bringing people of different years together to academically support one another throughout university, while also socialising outside of the academic to ensure all members receive a well-rounded university experience. We run a variety of social events such as "PPE and pints", bar crawls, mini golf, balls and cocktail evenings while also holding academic events. Such events and initiatives include debates and collaberations with others UoB socities, a monthly Policy newsleter, group study sessions and our participation in the annual PPE Symposium. We understand the struggles of an interdisciplinary degree and want to share the knowledge each of us gains between year groups. We aim to run regular study sessions, some general and some tailored to specific year groups, to support the academic side of university and so everyone gets the help they need.
For a direct point of contact you can email ppe@guild.bham.ac.uk or messge us on Instagram and Facebook. You should be able to find out about the society further on these pages. We have also set up a LinkedIn page for professionals who have studied a PPE degree or similar to allow students to explore possible career paths and connect with alumni.
Overall, the society aims to support members and provide them with the opportunities to have a fulfilled university experience.
