Established in 2013, Birmingham Hong Kong PASS is a student society at the University of Birmingham, forming part of a wider network of over 15 HKPASS societies across universities throughout the UK. We are also proud to have exciting collaborations planned with other HKPASS societies within the Midlands.
Our society actively engages students through a diverse range of activities, including academic, career-focused, and social events, all designed to help students from Hong Kong make the most of their university experience in Birmingham and prepare for their future paths. Each year, we organise events such as Orientation Day/Camp, Start of Semester Dinner, Chinese New Year Dinner, Charity Day, Sports Day, and more. We also host careers events, inviting industry leaders to share their unique insights with our members and support their professional development. In the past, we have welcomed distinguished guest speakers, including the Honourable Chief Justice Geoffrey Ma Tao-li and Mr Ricky Wong, to lead seminars.
Our society’s flagship event, the Birmingham Public Speaking Competition, aims to raise awareness of pressing global issues and attracts talented students from over 12 leading universities each year. Students from across the UK use this competition as a platform to showcase their critical thinking and public speaking skills, and to network with like-minded individuals from other outstanding universities.
With a strong foundation and an ambitious vision, Hong Kong PASS remains committed to making a positive impact on our members’ lives and the wider community. Stay connected with Hong Kong PASS to participate in our upcoming events, initiatives, and opportunities. We look forward to welcoming you to our events and activities!
