oSTEM (Out in Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) at the University of Birmingham is a society dedicated to supporting LGBTQ+ students studying (or with an interest in) STEM subjects!
We welcome undergraduates and postgraduates from across the University and organise a range of events throughout the year. We run LGBTQ+ speaker events throughout the year, including the annual Equal in STEM conference in collaboration with WISE and BEAMS, as well as helping out with the oSTEM UK annual conference: STEM, LGBTQ and You. Our social events include weekly coffee socials, weekly quizzes, and watch parties, and we also have snacks and a game! We also have a few collabs with other societies planned, and will host different activities in socials for LGBTQ+ history month in February.
