Model United Nations

What is MUN?

MUN is a space to debate a wide range of topics - from equality to environment - roleplaying as countries around the world. It leads to some fruitful and exciting debates, alongside helping people gain a deeper understanding of the world around them. It is great at building confidence and giving you experience in public speaking!

At first it may seem like there's lots of complicated jargon, but we are here to support you and help you understand it - and realise it's not as tricky as it first seems.

If you do have any questions contact us on our instagram (@uob.mun).

What do we do as a Society?

We primarily focus on MUN Conferences and practicing debates in our weekly sessions:

• Mondays 7-9pm Debate Session
• Wednesdays 4-5pm Conference Prep Sessions (held in the lead up to conferences)

We go away to conferences around the country, to meet people with similar interests and engage in debate more fully. Some conferences we've been to include:

• BrumMUN (Our own one!)
• CUIMUN (Cambridge)
• WelshMUN (Cardiff)
• QMUN (London)
• SOASMUN (London)
• UCLMUN (London)
• RuMUN (Reading)

We also host socials throughout the year! Our committee work hard to host events that you're interested in and cater to the wants of our members.
