The FYD show will be a comedic show, based loosely off of Alice and Wonderland, about life as a UoB med student. We have a team of writers (who will write the script from scratch), producers, directors and dance choreographers (with show experience), and will be running auditions and rehearsals throughout semester 1 in order to create a great show together! Our profits will go mainly towards our FYD weekend away in semester 2, a residential weekend where we celebrate the completion of medical school together. Particiption in FYD events are open to medical students in their 5th year at UoB, and everyone is welcome to watch the show!
We have liaised show dates with ARTE and medsoc Dance, so hopefully we can make the ATH bookings work for everyone! A lot of our props and set will be in the ATH so it's important that we have access to this space please :)
Overview of FYD needs
- acting auditions: multiple CM / WS rooms 18:00-22:00 on 1st, 2nd, 5th September
- acting rehearsals: ATH (ideally), WF15, or CM04, Wednesday and Friday evenings from 10th Sept to 5th Nov 18:00-21:00
- girls and boys dance rehearsals: WF15 (ideally) or ATH, Monday evenings 19:30-21:30 from 1st Sept to 4th Nov
- Bollywood dance rehearsals: WF15 (ideally) or ATH, Thursday evenings 20:00-21:00 from 4th Sept to 30th Oct
- full-cast weekend rehearsal: ATH 1st and 2nd Nov 08:00-22:00 both days
- full-cast dress rehearsal: ATH 4th Nov 18:00-22:00
- SHOW: ATH 6th to 8th Nov (18:00-22:00)
- show tidy up: ATH 9th Nov 08:00-12:00
