Welcome Week doesn’t just have to be for first years! We can’t wait to welcome you back to campus for another year and we’ve got so much planned for you.

Welcome Week Events

If you’re living in Selly Oak or if this is your first year living in the community, why not come along to our Silent Disco Selly Tour. This is a great way to get to know more about where you’ll be living while singing your heart out! There’s even free pizza. Another great way to get settled into living outside of student accommodation is by coming along to our Coffee Morning and making some introduction cards to your new neighbours!

If you’d like to show off your artistic skills, grab a free pastry and take part in our plant pot painting event! Whether you prefer to show off your general knowledge during Quiz Night, chill out with some acoustic music at our Sunday Sessions or party hard at our brand new club nights, Drag Disco, FAB Back to School or Afrobeats Party – there’s something for everyone!

Our ever-popular Welcome Fair is back for 2025 and is a great way to settle back into uni life while also bagging some awesome freebies! Just a few brands you can expect to see this year are: Nando’s, Deliveroo, National Express, Boux Avenue and Department for Education. We’d love to see you there!

Join and re-join a society!

Societies aren’t just for first year university students! Joining a society or getting involved in volunteering is an amazing way to make new friends and amazing memories. With over 350 student groups to choose from, you’re bound to find a group that speaks to you, but if not – why don’t you set up a new group? Don’t forget, if you’d like to continue a membership with a student group, you’ll need to renew and rejoin for the year ahead.

Our Societies Fair will be taking place on 24 and 25 September this year and is the perfect way to meet all of the student groups, societies and associations.

We have so much planned for Welcome Week and we can’t wait to welcome you back to campus!
